Prejemnik priznanja REFERENCA 2015
Tadej Zupanc from Šentjur near Celje is a young man with many interests and activities. Currently he

member of the Athletic club Šentjur and a member of several vocal ensembles, the organizer of
mountain trips, he engages in the voluntary work in the Youth center Šentjur, but in particular, he is
committed to a healthy lifestyle. During the gathering of working experiences, among other things, he
participated in the horticultural tasks and experiments on plants in relation to plant’s resistant at the

s.p. He also accumulated experience in dealing with customers, as a vendor of Society Ethno-Eco at
the fair Šentjur and stalls eco market. But his first love is certainly the fruit growing and within this he
focuses on professional research in the field of healthy food and natural hygiene and also his life goals
are tied to this area. He is currently focused on three projects. With great interest he monitors the
creation of social garden on the Primorska region, which will include a lot sorts of fruits and
vegetables. In addition, his friend invited him in a private project for joint purchase of agricultural land
and the cultivation of fruit (and probably vegetable) there. Both projects have the potential to bigger
land yield, to connect people in a functional community and improve food security without major
financial inputs (in case of sufficient cheap land). The third interesting project, to which he was invited
by a middle-aged lady from Celje, is the renovation of the old farm, where are an increasing number of
tall fruit trees. The idea is to restore the plantation, while helping volunteers who would in turn get
experience from farming and part of the harvest for free. Tadej finds as very important to recognize
that money alone does not provide the moral and safe people. He considers that it has to be allowed
narrower (local) community the various forms of trade in goods, in addition to cash, the ones which
can contribute to the common engagement and the creation of wider social benefits.
