- TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR COOPERATING
Article 1:
In accordance with the rules and the AK project operation method, the LLA and the participants adopt the rules and conditions which enable the operation of the project.
Article 2:
By applying to the project, the participants accept the contents, rules and conditions of the AK project, which are published at www.ambassadorsofknowledge.com and are an integral part of these rules. The participants confirm the acceptance thereof with their signature.
*The condition for the project operation is the published description of the persons who have received the honorary function of the Ambassador of Knowledge (AK). Individuals accept such condition by completing the form – identity card. The descriptions of the applicants should include the data about their achievements, functions and educational background.
*Individuals (AK) allow the use/mention of their names for the purposes of promotion.
Article 3:
The organizations where the AKs work allow and accept the contents, rules and conditions of the AK project operation, which are published at www.ambassadorsofknowledge.com and are an integral part of these rules. They confirm this with their signature.
*By cooperation, an organization allows the publication of selected projects and a description of their contents in the magazines and other materials.
Article 4:
Copyrights and other rights on the Ambassadors of Knowledge project:
- Are students also rewarded for their work (written contributions, cooperation on the project, and practical work in an organization)?
No, since the benefits are mutual. Organizations obtain useful contents, studies… and the writers gain practical knowledge and skills, and they learn about the internal structure of the organization. Of course, the cooperation also enables young people access to the Ambassadors of Knowledge, as they meet them in person at the Congress. Young people (students) receive the Reference award for their efforts in any activity, and they are presented at the AEC – Academic Economic Congress).
Young people have the support of their mentors in the companies that lead and coordinate them on the way to receiving the award. Mentors are not paid for their work, but they receive the Mentor award (in 2014, the awards were conferred by the former president of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Danilo Turk). Students and mentors therefore receive awards. Ambassadors of Knowledge are also not paid for their work – they perform an honorary function.
- Why are there no payments?
The combination of such cooperation is a matter of an interactive support of all players – this is a win-win combination.
There are no payments since the benefits are mutual.
What we paid special attention to here
Everything involving payments would represent an obstacle for small companies. As a result they would probably not be able to cooperate, which is not the objective of the project. The project is intended to continuously establish and keep interactions between students and organizations in order to pass on practical knowledge from mentors to students, and to provide theoretical knowledge to organizations, which represents their mutual benefit and the benefit to the broader society. The aim of the project is also to enable cooperation to everyone, since everyone contributes their share of knowledge… This is the essence of the project. It helps us make the world a better place by giving equal opportunities to everyone.
- COPYRIGHT: can students later publish and use the paper (the results of the study) under their name without limitations?
Do students have any material rights (should they be paid if their intellectual property is used)?
The product/input resulting from this process should be used wisely by both, the students and the organizations.
Writers can use their work (paper, analysis, study…) under their names without limitations, but they must always include a statement that the work was a result of cooperation in the process of Ambassador of Knowledge to obtain the Reference award and that the award for their work was received by the Ambassador of Knowledge (name). This benefits the student and the organization where the Ambassador of Knowledge works.
The institution where the Ambassador of Knowledge (AK) works can use the work (paper, analysis, study…) produced by a student, as this is the purpose of this process – mutual benefits. Organizations obtain useful contents, and the writers or those involved in the project, researchers, etc. gain practical knowledge and skills, which are then passed on to them free of charge by the mentors of the organization where the AK works. Both receive public recognition for their work. Young people receive the Reference award and mentors the Mentor award. Ambassadors, on the other hand, have already been awarded the honorary function. This is a typical win-win situation.
- Can several students or teams work on one task even if only one is selected?
Several teams or individuals can work on one task. There is nothing we can do if they do not like the other titles. The quality of the product produced would not be at the same level if they were forced to do something against their wish (we all know that the result is not the best if we have to do something we are not interested in, motivated for or passionate about…). If certain titles are not used, they can be transferred to the following year if the AKs agree or if such titles still deliver useful contents to them. Of course, there is no point in insisting on the same titles for more than two years.
4a. What benefit is there then for the other participant students if there is no payment?
All other participants receive a certificate of cooperation in the process to obtain the Reference award. Nominees for other awards also do not receive anything (or they just receive a certificate). They can identify themselves as being in the close selection. The same applies to this project.
- Exchange of information
The cooperation on the project establishes the exchange of information channels.
The interest and objective of the Life Learning Academia is to exchange wishes/information, since the connection between the economic sphere, the academic sphere and the students is one of the activities in the process. In this way we enable connections, networking and the exchange of information… This is what makes the world better. This is where we build bridges and leave trails – the good ones! And this is what we call corporate social responsibility.
