Boyd Johnson has earned a Ph.D. in International Studies (Oxford), an M.A. in Anthropology, an M.A. in Theology, and a B.A. in Anthropology. He currently is Chairman of the doctoral program in Organizational Leadership at Indiana Wesleyan University, where he has taught for over 18 years. Prior to that, he worked for World Vision International for 16 years in many roles, including Research Associate, Associate Director of Leadership (South Pacific), Operations Director (Thailand), Director of Resources (Asia Region), Field Director (Pakistan), and Director of Strategic Resources (Canada).
Dr. Johnson has done training, consulting and teaching in over 50 countries, has visited over 70 nations on six continents, and has lived in six countries. He is a dual citizen of Canada and the USA. He has studied, presented and published on global development, third-world poverty and change, and the role of ideologies in societies (particularly in the South Pacific, Pakistan and Thailand). His research interests include cross-cultural leadership with a particular focus on cultural intelligence.
Since 2013, Dr. Johnson has been carrying out an extended cultural intelligence research project in four countries in Eastern Europe: Ukraine-Moldova (post communist ex-USSR) and Slovenia-Serbia (post socialist ex-Yugoslavia). He presented field results and conducted regional trainings as a guest speaker in Kyiv, Chisinau, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Maribor, Koper, Nova Gorica.
Dr. Johnson annually presents at the international conferences in Europe and USA as a member of ILA (International Leadership Association) and SIETAR USA (Society of International Training and Research).
