Dr. Sam Osmanagich (born June 1, 1960), aka Semir Osmanagić, Bosnian-American scientist, megalithic and pyramid sites researcher, internationally acclaimed speaker, and author of 18 books on ancient civilizations, and businessman. Sam Osmanagich wrote and narrated the 12-episode documentary “Search for Lost Civilization” for the state television of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FTVBiH) in 2007 and is the founder of Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation. He is best known for discovering an ancient pyramid complex in Visoko, Bosnia-Herzegovina, which many scientists claim are the largest and oldest man-made structures in the World. Since 2005, he has served as the project’s principal investigator.

Early Life & Education
Osmanagich, the second son of Tonka Osmanagich and Prof. Dr. Muris Osmanagich, the first mining Ph.D. in Yugoslavia and a renowned scientist, was born in Zenica, Bosnia-Herzegovina (formerly Yugoslavia) on June 1, 1960. He studied in Sarajevo, where he graduated from both elementary and high school as the top student in his division.
He has a Ph.D. in Mayan pyramids from the University of Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina (2002-2007). Prior to that, he graduated from the University of Sarajevo with a Master of Science in International Economics, a B.S. in Political Sciences, a B.S. in Economics, and two years of sociology training.
He operated an import-export business for seven years after earning his degree from the University of Sarajevo. He moved to the United States in 1992, just as the Bosnian War began. He settled in Houston, Texas, and worked as a marketing assistant for a business that made components for oil and gas wells. He received a promotion to manager and became a minority owner of the company in 1995, owning 5% of it.

Career
Scientific Career
He is known worldwide as an expert on pyramids and has researched the sites of pyramidal constructions in various countries, including China, Mauritius, the Canary Islands, Egypt, Peru, El Salvador, Guatemala, Bolivia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Australia, USA, Honduras, and Mexico, and has traveled to more than 100 countries.
He is an anthropology professor at the American University in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the center’s director (2011-2012), and a foreign member of Moscow’s renowned Russian Academy of Sciences, which counts many Nobel Prize winners among its members. He’s introduced as a honorary member of Croatian Academy of Sciences and Art in Diaspora (Bazel, Switzerland) and Bosnian Academy of Sciences and Art ‘Kulin Ban’ (Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina). He is also a fellow member of the Archaeological Society of Alexandria.
Osmanagich received an invitation to Visocica’s fortress ruins (Visoko, Bosnia-Herzegovina) in April 2005. Osmanagich observed Visocica hill’s pyramidal shape while he was there. Later, he published a book supporting the idea that the hill was the wreckage of a long-ago pyramid that was built by intelligent hands. He asserted that this Pyramid was one of six enormous stone constructions that were pyramid-shaped and had a vast network of prehistoric tunnels. He gave these constructions the name “Bosnian pyramids” and founded the “Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation” as a charitable organization to support the marketing and research of the site. With over 650.000 working hours logged between 2005 and 2023, this project has emerged as the World’s most important and most active archaeological site.
He and his team have so far found eleven artificial structures, including the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, the Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon, the Bosnian Pyramid of Love, the Bosnian Pyramid of the Dragon, the Temple of Mother Earth, the Sixth Pyramid, the Vratnica, Dolovi, and Ginje Tumuli, the KTK Tunnels, and the Underground Labyrinth “Ravne” which consists of six discovered entrances to the tunnels.
Before that, he spent 25 years studying pyramids around the World, visiting and exploring most of them. These include the Chinese pyramids in the central province of Shansee, the Koh Ker pyramids in Cambodia, the pyramids in Indonesia, Australia, Sudan, Egypt, the Canary Islands, Mauritius, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Belize, the USA, Spain, and finally Bosnia, where the most of them are completely covered in vegetation.

Legacy
Dr. Sam Osmanagich has opened a whole new chapter in the World of archaeology.
In contrast to the archaeologists at the other sites, he uses an interdisciplinary scientific approach. He has demonstrated that the oldest and best pyramids served as energy amplifiers rather than being constructed as tombs. As a result, this energy was used as a communication tool to safeguard health, enhance the molecular composition of water and food, boost immunity, and sharpen spiritual sensibilities. Pyramids were constructed to benefit the local population.
He has created a brand-new idea for archaeology: volunteering at the excavation sites. Over 3,750 individuals helped excavate the Bosnian Pyramid between 2010 and 2023.
In addition, he created “Park Ravne 2,” buying and restoring 10 ha (1 million square feet) of swampy, muddy terrain filled with tones of trash into the most stunning park in Southern Europe. The park has evolved into a cultural and sport haven with festivals, organic food fairs, sporting events, concerts, yoga lessons, and tango and salsa festivals. All activities in the park and admission are free.

Business Ventures
Between 1986 and 1989, Dr. Sam served as an associate at the Institute for Strategic Development at UNIS (United Metal Industry of Sarajevo). He founded his own company, Meteorit, Inc., for construction and international trade. (1989-1992) He held the position of General Manager of Houston Protectors, Inc. when he went to the United States. Osmanagich established the manufacturing firm Met Company, Inc. in Houston in 1995 and served as the company’s owner and CEO until 2022 when he sold it.
Novak Djokovic, the best tennis player in the World, has been to the Bosnian Pyramids multiple times. On July 13, 2022, he inaugurated a top-notch tennis center in Visoko with Dr. Sam as part of their joint business.
